This is my first post of 2018!!!
Happy New Year!!!
I have many goals to accomplish this year, and growing my youtube channel is one of my goals. Toward the end of last year I changed up my usual youtube routine, and I definitely saw a difference. In one month I gained over 1000 subscribers by using the following tips.
Optimize your Channel
Would you follow a faceless profile on the internet? No, so why would your potential subscribers? Make sure your channel is fully optimized. Create a channel banner, update all current social media links, genuinely fill in your “About” section. People love to follow folks they can relate to online. Be sure to include your post schedule here too. Let potential subscribers know what they can gain from your channel.
Bonus Tip: is to organize your playlist. It makes your channel look professional and put together.
Create Quality Content
This means you have to plan, plan, plan! Planning is detrimental to your channel. Take your time to research and create quality content. I love using a content calendar to keep track of when to plan, film, and produce my videos. Quality also includes your background setting, sound quality, and content quality. Don’t just throw ideas out there and hope they will stick. Be strategic.
Consistency is Key
So you’ve made the commitment to post videos. Now determine how often you want to post. Once a week is excellent for those just starting out. Do not over commit yourself. Choose a realistic schedule and stick with it.
Bonus Tip: Posting your video on the same day and time each week gives potential subbies an incentive to come back and watch more!
It’s the 1st thing viewers see! Make it stand out. The more your thumbnail sticks out, the more likely you will attract a new viewer to your channel. I’m currently working on making all of my thumbnails cohesive in 2018. I believe that by doing this, subbies will easily spot my videos anywhere on youtube suggestion pages.
Tags and Titles
Tags have been my holy grail helper in gaining subscribers. The right tags can put your video in the hands of a potential subscriber. Tags can make or break how your video is ranked on youtube. I like to use the VidIQ extension on my browser. This extension is beneficial because it gives insight on the top tags used on youtube to help boost your video rankings. It also provides you with an idea of what titles to use. Eyecatching titles are key.
Bonus Tip: Easily searchable titles gain more views. Use Google Keyword Planner engine to see what people want to look at!
I noticed that using these few changes significantly helped my channel grow! Do you have any youtube tips? Make sure to leave your channel in the comments section below!
